II.Chapter 2 – The Day of the LORD concerning the nations

    A. Israel (2:1-3)

         1. The command to Israel (vs 1) - gather (cf Mt 24:16)

         2. The condition of Israel (vs 1) – Nation not desired

         3. The call to Israel (vs 3)

     B. The Philistines (2:4-7) to the West cf Ezk 25:15-17

     C. The Moabites (2:8-11) to the East cf Ezk 25:8-11

          1.The chastisement of Moab (vs 9)

          2.The cause for judgment (vs10)

          3.The consequence of judgment (vs 11)

     D. The Ethiopians (2:12) to the South

     E. The Assyrians (1:13-15) to the North

All the nations around Israel would be affected by her judgment. They would not escape.
