Psalm 1

Psalm 1 – The Psalm of two ways

  1. The Way of the Righteous
    A. Separation – a way of life (vs 1)  Jer 15 see vs 17
    B. Meditation – a part of life (vs 2)
Ps 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Ps 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

1Ti 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

    C. Production – a result in life (vs 3)

2Chor 24:1-26

  1. The Way of the Ungodly
    A. Compared to chaff (vs 4) (Ps 35:1-8) cf (Mt 3:12)
    B. Committed to the judgment (vs 5) cf Jude 1:14 -25
    C. Concluded in destruction (vs 6)
Perish - Ps 92:9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

Pr 10:28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

Pr 29:18 ¶ Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
