Psalm 21

A three fold application

     1) We see a psalm penned under inspiration concerning the life experiences of King David.

     2) We see the Messianic quality of this Psalm concerning the Lord Jesus Christ.

     3) We see the believer's place by application as the victorious child of God. (1 Peter 2:9) (Rev 1:6)


I. The Faith (vs 1)

     * I shall rejoice  cf (Hab. 3:17-19)

II. The Facts (vs 2-6)

     A. Answered prayer (2)
     B. Abundant honor (3-6)
     C. Abounding joy (6)

III. The Future (vs 7-12)

     A. Trust brings stability (vs 7) cf (Ps 16:8)
     B. Safety is of the Lord (vs 8)
     C. Being in God's will makes your enemies God's enemies (vs 8-9)

         – find out = expose to deal with cf (1Sam 31)

         - Hand of the Lord -

               1. Ex 9:1-6
               2. Josh 4:19-24
               3. Judges 2:11-20
               4. 1Sam 5:6-9
               5. 2Kings 3:15
               6. Psalm 118:1-18
               7. Is 59:1-2

     D. The earth (vs 10) is the Lord's He will have His inheritance.

         (vs 9-12) - (Lev 25:23-28) cf Ruth 4; Jer. 32:7;  Rev 5

IV. The Focus (vs 13)

     A. Desire for God to be glorified
     B. Determine to sing and praise his power.
